Kensington Market is the place to go for inexpensive everything. Certain areas reminded me a LOT of El Paso Street; it was great spending some quality time in a big city with plenty to offer any visitor, but I was happy when my journey was over and I was home with my tolerable winter weather, my own bed, my friends, my neighborhood, and the devils that I know.

The TIRZ board is recommending to the City Council a major expansion of the district boundaries. It also recommends that any increment captured in the original TIRZ -- the 125-plus acres that includes much of Union Plaza, the area between Overland and Paisano, and portions of the Magoffin and Sacred Heart neighborhoods -- stay in that area.

The filming, which begins Monday, will close some streets in Central El Paso. It's estimated to bring some star power and some loose change into the city, and continues to the effort by the Film Commission to compete with New Mexico and lure films to the city.
