El Paso's own Raymond Jaramillo McLeod's 20th Century Broadway will be performed at the Plaza Theatre October 3 & 4, 2008 at 8;00. p.m.
Raymond is a 1972 graduate of Irvin High School in El Paso and went on to obtain a
Masters in Vocal Performance from UT Austin. He then was with the Metropolitan Opera in New York where he performed with famous tenors Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and more. He has performed with Barbra Streisand, Will Smith in Fresh Prince of Bel Air, as well as guest starring this season on Law and Order, Criminal Intent. He also starred opposite Brooke Shields in the Broadway revival of Wonderful Town, and numerous other Broadway productions. He performed with New York Philharmonic (whose cast included Fran Drescher, Christopher Lloyd and Gabriel Byrne) in Camelot this June, as well as performing The Civil War at the White House. He is widely regarded as one of the best bass baritones on Broadway.
