Fall 2008 Film Schedule
Cinema Novo is proud to present its Fall 2008 film lineup. This semester’s film program includes tales of thievery, B-boys, politically charged cartoons, pet zombies, Koreans eaten alive by a monster, lots o Francais, and much more! Cinema Novo showcases cutting edge, foreign, independent and art films in 35mm format. Films are selected by a panel of film experts. Cinema Novo is made possible through a grant provided by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
Cinema Novo Films will show at the UTEP Union Cinema on Fridays and Saturdays during the semester (excluding football weekends). Tickets for each film are $2 for non-UTEP Students and $1 for UTEP students. Tickets will be sold prior to each film at the UTEP Union Cinema. Cinema Novo’s All-Hallows-Eve Grind (USA, Mexico, and Korea) October 24th and 25th
Two different Grind House events in one horror filled weekend. On Frightening Friday: We have a modern twist on the legend of La Llorona in Kilometro 31, and a girl finding out that she has a unique anatomy trait that can prove lethal in Teeth. Startling Saturday: the horror continues but with family twists, the classic story of a boy and his zombie in Fido, and a monster emerges from the Han River and kidnaps the youngest member of the Park family, and the family is determined to get her back in The Host.
