Study finds El Paso mental health system nears crisis
Lack of funding and continued growth place critical services at risk


A new study just released by the Institute for Policy and Economic Development finds that unless El Paso’s mental health care system receives additional resources, local healthcare, law enforcement and educational systems will be significantly impacted.

What: Release of “Mental Health: A Looming Crisis in El Paso County,” a three-part study of mental health services in the region

Why: Research findings will be used to develop a set of comprehensive mental health legislative priorities in preparation for the 81st Legislative Session beginning January 2009.
