KTEP Public Radio Series Examines 2008 Election Impact on the Border.
“Election 2008 on the Border” airs on KTEP 88.5 FM during NPR’s Morning Edition 6-9a September 8 through 12.
El Paso, Texas September 3, 2008: The 2008 Election and its impact on the border region is the focus of the five-part radio series “Election 2008 on the Border” on public radio station KTEP FM (88.5).
“Election 2008 on the Border” will air twice a day 6-9am during NPR’s Morning Edition Monday through Friday September 8 to September 12. The series also will be archived on the KTEP website at ktep.org.
Dr. Barthy Byrd, associate professor of communication at the University of Texas at El Paso, wrote, produced, and narrated the series that looks at the issues that concern the citizens of the border region and the positions of Senators McCain and Obama on these issues.
Dr. Byrd interviewed various experts in the fields of illegal immigration, drug trafficking, the environment, and border and homeland security. “The next president will have to deal with these and other issues,” Dr. Byrd said. “Hopefully this series will shed some light on where the candidates’ stand and how they propose to address these vital questions.”
