Deadline for E-mail submissions of women's names and bios is October 15, 2008
Physical artifacts will be delivered to The El Paso Museum of History from October 15-October 22, Mondays-Fridays, 10:00-4:00

IMMIGRANT WOMEN OF EL PASO: A PHOTO AND PORTRAIT EXHIBIT AND OPENING RECEPTION

The exhibit seeks 75 photos or painted portraits of immigrant women to El Paso who must have either passed on or who are still living at the age of 80 or above. The women must have emigrated from their respective countries and settled in El Paso without having lived for a significant time elsewhere.

Pictures/portraits must be at least 11x14 prior to matting and framing.

To submit your mother or grandmother’s name, please fill out the submission form attached to reserve a space on the exhibit wall for her.

Frames must be ready to hang. Physical artifacts must be delivered by the person submitting and given to Jim Murphy, Development Director at The El Paso Museum of History in Mid-October, Mondays through Fridays, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The first 75 to be received will be included in this exhibition. Accompanying bios must include “only” the name of the woman (first name, maiden, and married, if applicable), the name of the country (and city, town, state, etc) from which she emigrated, the year of emigration, and date of birth and death (if applicable) and the name and contact information of the person submitting the piece.
