WHAT: Rick Noriega to speak at El Paso Get Out the Vote Unity Rally. From Early Vote through Election Day, Rick Noriega, candidate for US Senate, will be traveling Texas on The Road to Victory Tour, meeting Texans and talking about his plan to get the economy back on track, to tackle rising costs of college tuition and to make sure all Texans have access to quality, affordable health care.

BACKGROUND: Rick Noriega is a 27-year veteran of the military. Noriega served as the Laredo Sector Commander for "Operation Jumpstart," the National Guard's border security campaign and served with the Texas Army National Guard in Afghanistan.
Rick Noriega was also chosen to serve as the incident commander of the Hurricane Katrina refugee support operations at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center, coordinating relief efforts in the wake of the devastating natural disaster.
A graduate of the University of Houston and Harvard University, Noriega is a member of the Defense Affairs and State and Federal Relations Committee of the Texas House of Representatives. A father of two sons, he is married to At-Large Houston City Council Member Melissa Noriega.
