Leah Diore-Downing began studying yoga in 1991 as part of her dance education in college. Leah graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a BA in dance and over 30 credit hours in anatomy and kinesiology, advanced hatha yoga and yoga fitness instruction. In 1996 Leah began to teach private yoga sessions out of her home studio and grew a client base of 45 people.

When Leah moved to Louisville, KY in 2002 Leah became certified in YogaFit at the local YMCA and then created her own type of class called “Yoga for Dancers” which she taught at Studio SILK for SILK Belly Dance and Art!Art!Barking Dog modern dance company.

Since moving to El Paso in 2007, Leah has been teaching yoga classes and "Yoga for Dancers" workshops at a variety of locations including: YWCA, Her Gym and Utep. Leah is also a professional dancer and performs locally.She is passionate about helping yoga instructors find their voice and style and offers free yoga instructor trainings. Leah presently teaches her group classes at Tennis West which are open to the public and she teaches private instruction by appointment.

Leah just returned from the Yoga Journal's 2009 yoga conference in Wisconsin where she received an educator scholarship. Leah's main stlye of teaching is a mix of vinyasa flow and traditional Hatha yoga. Leah strives to help create practices for people that find balance in flexibility, strength, and balance.
