With the current financial crisis, new economic models have never looked more attractive. Envision a world where all workers are paid fairly, where you can buy locally produced goods from the people who made them. Add Art and music and a beautiful sense of community. Now live that world for a day at the Fair Trade Festival! This year’s festival will be at the Kinley’s House Coffee and Tea, located at 2231 N. Mesa St. on the west side. Kinley’s House Coffee and Tea is the only place in all of El Paso that sells Fair Trade Coffee, there is a great need to educate all of El Paso of what would be achieved if all restaurants and Café’s would sell Fair Trade. The purpose of the Fair Trade Festival is to increase consumer awareness of Fair Trade and to enjoy live local music and local art. Performances include Belly Dancers, Poetry Reading, and Folk Music.
