The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) along with the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts and Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, present Flautas sin Fronteras featuring world renowned Mexican-American flautist, Elena Durán.
Flautas sin Fronteras began in 2006 as an effort to bridge the cultural gap between Mexico and the United States in this border community by using classical and contemporary flute music. Durán enjoys performing for underserved populations and enjoys learning from everyone she meets in her performance or encuentros as she likes to call them. Supporting performances, such as Flautas s in Fronteras, helps MCAD strengthen its goal to support programs that are bi-national and create cultural connections between El Paso and Cuidad Juàrez
The following encuentros with Elena Durán are open and free to public:
Wednesday, 28 May at 11.30 AM Chihuahuita Senior Citizen Center, Segundo Barrio
Wednesday, 28 May 4 PM in La Fe Community Center, Socorro
Thursday, 29 May 11:30 AM in Rio Vista Community Center, Westway
