What is a staycation? It's when gas is so expensive, or it's so hot out, that you just stay home on your vacation.
This show offers a vacation of the mind.
Shane Wiggs presents intricate paintings of close-ups of steam valves, pipe drills, and pressure distributors.
These are machines that make the world work. Yet, these parts float in space, and in doing so reference both physical objects with measurable pressure, torque and horsepower, as well as psychological pressures, and power distribution systems.
Rudy Royval shows several paintings and works on paper from stream-of-consciousness abstractions, to fine tuned paintings in the tradition of Magical Realism.
These pieces, like the personal denseness of Frida Kalo's work, make you stop and think, and then think again.
