It's election season. Everyone is asking for your vote if you're over 18. Now, it's our turn, and we don't care how old you are or where you live or what country's citizenship you hold.
Newspaper Tree is on the list of candidates for El Paso's best local website in the El Paso Times Best of the Border contest. We normally wouldn't direct you there, but in this case we hope you visit their site, click on Best of the Border, and vote for Newspaper Tree.
Online voting ends today, and we hope you take a minute to vote for Newspaper Tree as best local website of 2008.
The best website category is all the way to the end. We can only wonder why it's all the way down there, on the third or fourth page. But if we were the Times, given the competition, we'd probably have put this contest at the end of the ballot, too.
Each year the El Paso Time's sponsors a Best of the Border contest to showcase the best in El Paso. El Paso Times readers nominate winners in several categories and then can vote on a ballot printed in the paper and online.
Newspaper Tree, El Paso's online newspaper, is part of the El Paso Media Group family of media entities. Editor Sito Negron works with reporter David Crowder, foreign correspondent Ben Wright and a team of freelance writers to produce compelling news and features on politics and culture in our region.
This year, Newspaper Tree celebrated its 5-year anniversary and the nomination from El Paso Times readers for best local website is a major achievement for NPT.
