Felipa's Top 10 movies of 2008

Another year winds down leaving the movies of 2008 to duke it out for top honors, pitting superheroes against politicians, and robots against the ever-clever Cohen brothers.

1. Doubt - Set in 1964, Doubt centers on a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him abusing a black student. He denies the charges, and much of the quick-fire dialogue tackles themes of religion, morality and authority.




2. Dark Knight - Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent are forced to deal with the chaos unleashed by an anarchist mastermind known only as the Joker, as it drives each of them to their limits. Click here to see Felipa's review online.



3. WallE - In the distant future, a small waste collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.



4. Iron Man - When wealthy industrialist Tony Stark is forced to build an armored suit after a life-threatening incident, he ultimately decides to use its technology to fight against evil.




5. MILK - The story of California's first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk, a San Francisco supervisor who was assassinated along with Mayor George Moscone by San Francisco Supervisor Dan White.



6. Frost/Nixon - A dramatic retelling of the post-Watergate television interviews between British talk-show host David Frost and former president Richard Nixon.



7. The Wrestler - A drama centered on retired professional wrestler Randy "The Ram" Robinson as he makes his way through the independent circuit, trying to get back in the game for one final showdown with his former rival.



8. Rachel Getting Married - A young woman who has been in and out from rehab for the past 10 years returns home for the weekend for her sister's wedding.




9. Burn After Reading - A disk containing the memoirs of a CIA agent ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous gym employees who attempt to sell it.



10. Adam Resurrected - In the aftermath of WWII, a former circus entertainer who was spared from the gas chamber becomes the ringleader at an asylum for Holocaust survivors.
