(El Paso, December 11th, 2008) DRUG WARS: SILVER OR LEAD, arguably the most graphic and realistic depiction of the Mexican drug cartels and their proliferation into the United States.

The shock-doc is showing one night only at the Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center, One Civic Center, El Paso, Texas 79901, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16th, presented by the Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition.

Tickets are available at Ticket Master or the Plaza box office for $7.00 ea.

Filmmaker and author Rusty Fleming, who has spent the last three years investigating the narco-terrorism along our border wanted to start the promotional tour for his documentary to El-Paso and says “We’re bringing ‘Drug Wars’ to ground zero of the war on drugs” as the cartels just across the river continue to terrorize the citizens in the communities of Juarez/El-Paso with their brutal and public displays of violence.

“It [the border] may not look like Baghdad, but it is the domain of an enemy that does more harm to us than any we are fighting anywhere else in the world. The boundaries, institutions, and rule of law that once held these enemies at bay have slowly dissipated, ushering in a whole new era of violence” says Fleming who adds “More frightening still, there is not a single force, functioning or in the planning stages of either government’s current administration, that has the will and the means to stop this threat to the national security of our two countries.”

Fleming will be in El-Paso for press interviews and will be attending the one night only premier at the Market Street Cinema.

The film, Drug Wars: Silver or Lead and Fleming’s new book, Narco Warfare in the 21st Century are available for sale at www.drugwarsthemovie.com

AGAVE PICTURES HOSTS PRIVATE PARTY FOR ‘AMERICAN CARTEL’ FEATURE FILM AT ANARTE GALLERY December 10, 2008, San Antonio, Texas: Agave Pictures, the San Antonio, Texas based feature film production company will host a party this Saturday December 13, 2008 at Ana Montoya’s AnArte Gallery at 5800 Broadway. This event celebrates the completion of film production for AMERICAN CARTEL, written and directed by San Antonio resident Jesse Estrada.

“This event celebrates the completion of our production and it’s our way of thanking the actors, investors, production crew and their families who made this film possible”, says Jesse Estrada. AMERICAN CARTEL was filmed in Uvalde and San Antonio, Texas as well as Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, México. AMERICAN CARTEL is about Texas Ranger “Carson Clark”, (performed by Austin native Todd Allen), who investigates a series of homicides in Uvalde County. During the investigation, he uncovers that the Mexican Cartel was behind his wife’s murder of five years before. He then teams up with a former Cartel assassin to take on the powerful Jiménez-Mier Cartel. “The narcotics crime wave in México is no longer exclusive to our neighbor across the border. It has penetrated daily life in South Texas”, adds Estrada. “This film addresses this emergent problem for today’s Texas law enforcement and presents the cartel’s reach into American society with an emotional yet entertaining perspective.”

The independent film AMERICAN CARTEL features Todd Allen (Broken Trails, The Apostle, Wyatt Earp) as Texas Ranger Carson Clark and Carlos Camacho Telemundo-NBC’s Pecados Ajenos, La Viuda de Blanco, Decisiones) as Héctor Jiménez the head of the Jiménez-Mier cartel. The film also features the talented young Houston based Latino actor Juan Gabriel Pareja (The Mist, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada) as Marcelo Del Norte, the young assassin. The legendary Mexican born actor Fernando Allende (Siempre Te Amaré, Miami Vice, HBO’S Naked Lies) also makes a cameo appearance in AMERICAN CARTEL.

“The script attracted a group of talented actors for the film. As a first time feature director, I was extremely pleased at capturing this level of talent to bring this compelling story to the big screen”, Estrada adds.

AMERICAN CARTEL will be submitted to 2009 film festivals including the Cannes Film Festival. Hollywood Film Distributors have inquired with Agave Pictures about distribution into movie theaters nationally. AMERICAN CARTEL will be presented at the privately held party, which is being sponsored by AnArte Gallery, Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine, Crown Imports, LLC Coona, Corona Extra and Pacífico Brands) and TEQUILAME 100% Agave Tequila.
