The following is taken from reports filed Monday with the county. The reports are required eight days before the election.

Candidate file reports either with the County (as in the case of Sheriffs, Commissioners and Judges) or with the Texas Ethics Commission (as in the case of the District Attorney and State Representatives.)

Candidates who are running unopposed do not need to file the report.

In case of failure to file a $500 fine is assessed against each candidate. Violators may file a petition asking that the fine be waived but must show cause.

The respective filing office must receive the reports by 5 p.m. on filing day.
