Wilson was evaluated on a five-point scale by council members, with a five being excellent or near perfect. According to the review, Wilson was given a few 5s, many high 4s and a few high 3s in rankings. (A copy of the review is at the bottom of this article in PDF format.)
The eight council members and the mayor gave her high 5s to all 11 questions pertaining to her administrative performance. One area that sticks out, though, is the open-ended questions section at the end of the evaluation: “What specific recommendations do you have for the City Manager to improve performance? More humor.”
In other areas of the open-ended questions, Wilson fared quite well. “In what areas has the City Manager been exceptional? Team building. Getting things done. Bringing El Paso attitude about itself.”
In her fourth term as city manager, Wilson received high marks overall with City Council approving a 5 percent raise at council on Tuesday. Wilson now earns a $216,743 annual salary, she started at a salary of $165,000 in September 2004.
