Resort to Showcase Performances By Two Legendary Entertainers
WHAT:
Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino presents two must-see
performances from world-famous entertainer, Wayne Newton and comedy
star, Rodney Carrington. Tickets for both acts will go on sale
Tuesday, January 6, 2009.
WHO:
Wayne Newton started performing at the age of four and has gone on
to entertain audiences worldwide for more than 60 years. Newton was
recruited by a Las Vegas talent agent and has since gone on to
become one of the world’s most recognized entertainers. Throughout
his career, he has served as the headlining act in many of Las
Vegas’ premier hotels, and in 1996 he performed is 25,000 show in
Vegas earning him the title of “Mr. Las Vegas.” Newton’s hit songs
include “Daddy Don’t You Walk So Fast,” “Years” and “Danke Schoen,”
and he has been featured in numerous films and TV shows such as
ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” NBC’s “Las Vegas,” “Ocean’s Eleven”
and “National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation.”
Funnyman Rodney Carrington has enjoyed great success as a recording
artist, stand-up comedian, actor and writer. After starring in his
self-titled sitcom “Rodney” for two seasons, he made his return to
the stand-up comedy circuit in 2008. His most recent film, “Beer for
My Horses,” in which he co-wrote and co-starred with country music
singer Toby Keith, received great reviews and is currently airing on
Country Music Television (CMT). Carrington achieved success as a
major label recording artist, as his albums have consistently topped
the comedy charts and are a favorite among radio stations nationwide.
