FOUNDATION ELECTS OFFICERS
The Rio Grande Cancer Foundation, a not-for-profit, community based philanthropic organization, announced the new slate of officers and directors for the 2009-2010 year. Elected at the April 15, 2009 annual meeting of the board were Victor Mascorro, Jr., President, Sharon Carr-Leamon, Vice President, Malena Field, Secretary/Treasurer and Kerry B. Lore, immediate past President. Patty Tiscareño serves as the Executive Director.
Director Patsy Slaughter was elected to a second term. New directors Robert Ash, Dan Olivas, Dr. Juan Herrada, Shelly Ruddock and Kathrin Berg-Pettit were elected to first terms. Other directors include Gordon L. Black, M.D., Jeanne Foskett, Peter Fraire, Amy Sanders, Robert Warach, and Patti Wetzel.
John Boomer, Eduardo Castorena, and Greg Hartley retired after six years of service to the Foundation.
The Rio Grande Cancer Foundation was established in April 1996 and exists to reduce the human and economic impact of cancer on the citizens of El Paso County through the financial support and development of effective programs for cancer patients and their families.
