MEETING TO FORM SCHOOL OF NONVIOLENCE IN EL PASO
EL PASO, TX, JULY 26, 2009: Pax Christi El Paso will sponsor an exploratory meeting on Tuesday, August 4 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Mother Teresa Center, 2400 Yandell Avenue in central El Paso to explore the establishment of a School of Nonviolence in El Paso.
The meeting is intended to bring together people of all races, all cultures, and all faiths (or of no particular established faith) for the purpose of promoting nonviolent awareness, communication, and action.
Attendees will hear the stories of people who have suffered racial, family, or other forms of violence. A discussion on these stories and their implications for development of the school will follow. This is a preliminary meeting and further planning meetings are anticipated.
Pax Christi El Paso is part of the national organization that strives to promote peace by exploring, articulating, witnessing, and practicing nonviolence.
